Subiaco Academy is looking for educators who are committed to teaching in an independent, Catholic, boarding school, single-sex education environment, particularly an individual for English/Language Arts instruction beginning in August of 2026. Candidates must have the desire to become part of a boarding school culture which includes not only responsibilities in the classroom, but also some advising and/or coaching as assigned. 

The English/Language Arts instructor is responsible for teaching in alignment with the goals and criteria of a Subiaco Academy education.
The English/Language Arts teacher will 

• teach English classes ranging from yearbook, oral communications, and Composition I/II to American and World Literature.
• work closely with colleagues in the English Department and throughout the Academy.
• create and update plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum.
• actively collaborate with the counseling staff to develop strategies to support all students.
• attend all faculty and employee meetings and school masses, serve as a student Advisor, fulfill other faculty duties, and maintain good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports and responses to parents’ inquiries.

The desired candidate

• holds at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a pertinent field.
• has taught secondary English/Language Arts and demonstrates knowledge of pedagogy and instruction as well as flexibility and strong organization and presentation skills.
• has prior experience in independent schools, with a strong background in instruction.
• is capable of teaching all levels of the subject, demonstrating a mastery of current pedagogy.
• has outstanding leadership skills.
• is exceptionally capable in both written and oral communication.
• is technologically savvy
• demonstrates proven success at working collaboratively in educational leadership.
• is passionate about the chosen field of study.
• An ability to learn and articulate the mission and values of the school and embrace the Benedictine heritage of the academy is paramount.

Subiaco Academy, a Catholic, college-preparatory, all-boys boarding and day school rooted in the Benedictine tradition, seeks a dynamic and strategic Director of Admissions to oversee all aspects of recruitment, enrollment management, and student retention. This role is central to advancing the Academy’s mission by cultivating meaningful relationships with prospective families, articulating the value of a Benedictine education, and leading a comprehensive, mission-driven admissions process that reflects best practices in independent school enrollment.

Position Summary
The Director of Admissions is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive admissions strategy that attracts and enrolls young men who will thrive academically, socially, physically, and spiritually at Subiaco Academy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for Catholic education. Experience in admissions, enrollment management, marketing, or related fields is preferred. Candidates currently working toward advanced training or certification in enrollment or educational leadership are also encouraged to apply.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full admissions process, from initial inquiry through enrollment.
• Build strong relationships with prospective families, educational consultants, feeder schools, parishes, and community partners.
• Coordinate and host admissions events, including campus tours, open houses, shadow days, and outreach visits.
• Collaborate with the Head of School, Marketing & Communications, Advancement, and Academic teams to ensure consistent messaging and mission alignment.
• Review applications, conduct interviews, and participate in admissions decisions.
• Maintain accurate admissions data and utilize enrollment trends to inform strategy.
• Represent Subiaco Academy at recruitment fairs, conferences, and community events.
• Support the Academy’s commitment to fostering the intellectual, social, physical, and faith development of every student by ensuring a welcoming and mission‑driven admissions experience.

Qualifications
Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or enrollment‑related certification preferred.
• Experience in admissions, enrollment management, marketing, or related fields.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and public‑speaking skills.
• Ability to differentiate communication approaches for diverse audiences and integrate varied strategies into daily work.
• Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education and the Benedictine tradition.

RETIREMENT PLAN MATCH: A 403(b) plan is a tax-deferred retirement plan available to full-time employees.  After one full year of employment, the employer will match your salary-deferral contributions, up to 5% of your earnings.  All contributions are vested 100% immediately.

PAID TIME OFF: Full-time employees receive: 9 paid holidays each year. 5 DAYS of paid vacation after 1 year of employment, 10 DAYS after 2 years, and 15 DAYS after 5 years. Personal Days are accumulated at the rate of one day for each 7 weeks worked up to 56 hours per calendar year. Up to 30 Personal Days can be carried over to the following year.  Bereavement leave of 2 days is given for the death of an immediate family member.

POOL AND FITNESS CENTER: All employees and immediate family members receive access to the campus pool and fitness center subject to the rules and regulations pertaining to these areas and at the risk of the user.

SPORTS PASS: All employees can receive a pass allowing them and their immediate family to get in free to all sporting events hosted by Subiaco Academy.

SUBIACO CHILD PROGRAM: This program provides a one-time, $1000 payment when an eligible full-time employee or spouse has a baby or adopts a child. If both the mother and father are employed by Subiaco, only one bonus is paid (The bonus is $500 for part-time employees). To be eligible, employees must be regular full time or part-time employees, must have been employed for 90 days prior to the birth or adoption of the child, and the birth or adoption had to have taken place since June 1, 2023. NOTE: Taxes will be calculated and paid separately, with the net amount of the bonus being $1,000 (FT) or $500 (PT). Multiple births or adoptions (i.e.: the birth of twins or the adoption of siblings) do not increase the one-time bonus.

SUBIACO PARENTAL LEAVE PROGRAM: This program provides two weeks (10 business days) of paid parental leave (mother, father, or both) following the birth or adoption of a child. To be eligible, employees must be regular full-time or part-time employees, must have been employed for 90 days prior to the birth or adoption of the child, and the birth or adoption had to have taken place since June 1, 2023. Parental leave must be taken within six (6) months of the birth or adoption of a child/children and is generally taken all at once in full-day increments. Multiple births or adoptions (ie: the birth of twins or the adoption of siblings) do not increase the benefit amount.

SUBIACO GRANDPARENT LEAVE PROGRAM: The program provides for three (3) days of paid grandparent leave to eligible employees following the birth of an employee’s grandchild or the placement of an adopted grandchild into the employee's family. Grandparent Leave may be requested for up to two (2) grandchildren events per calendar year. Multiple births or adoptions (i.e.: the birth of twins or adoption of siblings) do not increase the benefit amount. The purpose of Grandparent Leave is to enable the employee to help care for and bond with a newborn or newly adopted child. To be eligible, employees must be regular full-time or part-time employees, must have been employed for 90 days prior to the birth or adoption of the child, and the birth or adoption had to have taken place since June 1, 2023.

SUBIACO CHILD AND GRANDCHILD EDUCATION PROGRAM: This program provides tuition-free day school education at Subiaco Academy for the son or grandson of any full-time employee. Each request would be at the discretion of the Abbot and the student will still need to meet the normal admission requirements of Subiaco Academy. Then, the family will need to apply:

1. for the Arkansas LEARNS Program (if the son/grandson is a resident of Arkansas),
2. the ACE Scholarship Fund, and
3. our Tuition Assistance Fund.

If the employee cannot pay the associated uniform costs, they may request financial assistance from the Abbot through our Almoner account.  If the son or grandson resides outside the state of Arkansas, the Head of School may discuss a boarding option where the prospective student could reside at no cost as a full-time boarder in our dormitories.
