Prefer nothing whatever to Christ. Rule of St. BenedictChapter 72
Our story begins in 1878
When Benedictine monks from Switzerland answered a call to bring education, faith, and service to the Arkansas River Valley. They arrived with little more than their prayers, their vision, and an unwavering commitment to forming young men of character and conviction.
Ora et Labora
By 1887, Subiaco Academy was formally established—a Catholic, college-preparatory school grounded in the Rule of St. Benedict: "Ora et Labora" (or "Pray and Work"). From the earliest students to today's graduates, Subiaco has nurtured scholars, athletes, craftsmen, farmers, leaders, and men of faith who are called not just to succeed, but to serve.
Faith, Scholarship, Character and Brotherhood
Over the decades, our campus has expanded, our programs have evolved, and our reach has grown. Yet the heart of Subiaco remains unchanged: a brotherhood rooted in prayer, scholarship, character, and service.
A Network For Life
Today, young men from across Arkansas, the United States, and around the world come to Subiaco Academy to experience a formation that prepares them for life’s challenges and opportunities—with strong minds, faithful hearts, and a spirit ready to lead.
