Leadership
Leaders Who Serve Our Community
If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
1st Corinthians 13:1-8
Dear Subiaco Families,
We talk often about whole person development here on the Hill, but what does that really mean? For us, it is not simply about academic achievement or success in athletics or the arts. It is about forming young men in every dimension of life: intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
We do this through a balance of rigorous academics, meaningful co-curricular experiences, and a vibrant residential community. Whether your son is learning to solve a complex problem in the Innovation Lab, performing in the Jazz Ensemble, sharing a dorm room, or hiking a mountain trail with classmates, he is growing. He is learning to reflect, to lead, to serve, and to love.
And love, truly, is at the center of it all.
Christ gave us a simple but radical command: “Love one another as I have loved you.” That love is not just a feeling. It is a way of living. It is a verb.
Love looks like compassion, patience, honesty, humility, and courage. At Subiaco, we ask our students and ourselves to reflect this love in our daily interactions, even when it is difficult.
Whole person development and Christlike love go hand in hand. When students are shaped by both, they become men of character who can think critically, lead wisely, and serve joyfully.
Thank you for trusting us to help guide your son on this path. It is a great responsibility and a great privilege. Onward Trojans!
